Scheid Vineyards allegedly burglarized by a Soledad man

A Soledad man was arrested Monday for allegedly recently stealing a utility vehicle and agricultural equipment from Scheid Vineyards.

Deputies with the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office said the equipment was located on a property three miles away from the vineyard on Metz Rd., as a home the suspects recently began renting.

Mariano Botello, 49 was arrested for burglary, grand theft, vehicle theft, possession of stolen property and conspiracy. Deputies said the total value of the stolen items added up to about $20,000 to $25,000. All of the items were returned to the vineyard.
