Deputies respond to King City Motel 6 for family dispute

A domestic violence incident Sunday night outside Motel 6 in King City, prompted a response from the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, according to deputies.

Deputies said screams could be heard from the parking lot where they saw suspect Antonio Laguna, 24, trying to push his way into a bathroom using a gun where four adults and four children were barricaded inside.

The Sheriff’s Office said Laguna was on felony probation, had a criminal protective order and had been arrested for domestic violence in the past.

Laguna was arrested and taken to the Monterey County Jail.
