6-year-old boy nearly drowns at Santa Cruz resort, deputies say

A 6-year-old boy nearly drowned at a resort in Santa Cruz Tuesday afternoon, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the incident was reported at Chaminade Resort and Spa around 1:30 p.m. when the boy was in the pool playing with friends and someone saw his body go limp.

Emergency crews said he was pulled out and CPR was done. Paramedics took him to the hospital for observation.
