Deputies arrest a man accused of kidnapping a woman in Salinas
Monterey County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man for kidnapping a woman Tuesday night.
According the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, the kidnapping started in Greenfield, while victim sent a text message to someone to let them know she was being held against her will.
The victim was able to get away and she ran inside a Jack in the Box on South Main Street in Salinas, where she locked herself inside the bathroom.
Deputies later tried to arrest the suspect, Steven Acosta, but he took off on foot.
He was eventually caught on Chestnut Street.
Deputies said the woman was treated for minor injuries.
