UPDATE: Watsonville Police ID homeless man murdered near Ramsay Park
UPDATE 6/15/2015: Watsonville police said they have identified the homeless man murdered last Friday near Ramsay Park and Slough.
Officers said Carlos Vasquez, 27, was killed and police are still asking for any information as the continue to investigate the case.
UPDATE 6/12/15 4:24p.m.: Watsonville Police say the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Justice are on scene assisting in the investigation. The California Department of Justice is brought in to help with crime scene depending on the time of day, type of homicide and resource availability to process evidence at a scene.

Officers got areport of a man with a gun about 2:04 p.m., then officers got another call stating that a man had been shot.
Watsonville firefighters pronounced the victim dead on scene.
This is the city’s second homicide of the year.
6/12/15 2:25p.m.: Watsonville Police said officers are investigating a homicide in the area of Ramsay Park and Slough, near JV Towing.
Police are asking people to avoid area and report any crime tips to 911.
