Two cars badly burned in accident on Highway 25 Monday
Highway 25 was closed for more than an hour during the morning commute Monday because of a fiery crash near Bolsa Road.
The accident happened at 7:15a.m. just south of Bolsa Road in Hollister when the driver of a 1967 Camero lost control and crossed over the double yellow lines.
CHP officers say the Camero spun around in the other lane and the car coming the opposite direction actually hit it from behind. That caused the Camero to burst in to flames and eventually caught the 1994 Acura on fire.
The 48 year old driver of the Acura had minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
The 41-year-old driver of the Camero had severe burns, and was flown to a Bay Area trauma center.
Officer say DUI is not suspected in the accident, but they still don’t know what caused the driver to lose control and cross over into the on-coming lane of traffic.
