Homeless man arrested for stealing tools in Watsonville, police say
A homeless man is facing burglary and drug charges after an incident early Monday morning at Marty Franich Ford on Auto Center Drive in Watsonville, police said.
Officers said Benjamin Sanchez, 43, was arrested after stealing about $20,000 in tools from the dealership’s upper mechanic shop. They said Sanchez was caught as he was going in and out of the shop, with tools in his hands.
Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office deputies helped Watsonville police with Sanchez’s arrest. During their search, methamphetamine was also found in Sanchez’s car, officers said.
