Monterey taqueria forced to pay unpaid overtime wages
A Monterey taqueria is being forced to pay $36,000 in unpaid wages and damages to 11 employees.
The U.S. Department of Labor said investigators with the Wage and Hour Division’s San Francisco District Office found Taqueria Papa Chano’s in Monterey failed to pay 11 workers overtime, totaling $36,026.
Investigators also said they discovered owners Everardo Valle and Sergio Valle failed to keep accurate records of hours worked.
The Department of Labor said Papa Chano’s has agreed to pay all wages and damages. Information on the judgement will be posted at the restaurant in English and Spanish.
