Safe and Sane fireworks booth lottery winners selected in Salinas

On Thursday, the Salinas Fire Department selected 18 lottery winners from a group of qualified applicants for this year’s firework sales booths.

Fire Chief Ed Rodriguez said the department received 50 applications this year.

Applications are accepted from schools, youth groups, community organizations and religious, fraternal or service and veterans’ organizations in Salinas.

All 18 lottery winners will be given permission to sell “Safe and Sane” fireworks within city limits later this year.
