Salinas men arrested for possession of multiple firearms

Two men were arrested in Salinas Sunday night for possession of several firearms, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office said.

A sheriff’s deputy was conducting a traffic stop in a 1994 Honda Civic vehicle in the Bolsa Knolls area when the officer noticed both Erick Sanchez, 26, and Narciso Escamilla, 32, were very nervous, deputies said.

After further investigation the sheriff’s deputy discovered both suspects had a concealed loaded firearm on them, the Sheriff’s Office said. Another weapon was found in the trunk of the vehicle.

Both Sanchez and Escamilla were taken into custody.
