Seaside Police make more gang arrests

Seaside Police say officers made a traffic stop Tuesday evening and arrested three known gang members from Seaside and Salinas.

At about 5p.m. officers stopped what they believed to be a suspicious vehicle, partly because several people in the car had just been dropped off prior to the stop and contacted by police.

One of the men, 18-year-old Francisco Padilla of Seaside was arrested for illegally possessing prescription Xanax.

Those still in the car when it was stopped were identified as Norteno gang members from Seaside and Salinas.

One of the men, 20-year-old Edwin Anguiano from Salinas, was issued a citation for possessing marijuana.

Another juvenile gang member was determined to be a fugitive since June 2014 after he cut off a home confinement tracking bracelet from his ankle. The minor was also had 100 Xanax pills and marijuana, with digital weighing scales. The minor was booked into Monterey County Juvenile Hall.

Seaside Police are asking citizens to continue to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help keep our community safe.
