Salinas Police investigate attempted murder, shooting
The Salinas Police Department is investigating an attempted murder after a 20-year-old man had several shots fired at him while he was in his vehicle Friday night.
At 10:08 p.m., Police said the 20-year-old man was stopped at the intersection of Bermuda Street at Rider Avenue when he saw a gray Mitsubishi Galant or Ford Focus parked nearby. Police said the victim saw his windshield shatter, he ducked and sped away on Rider Avenue as the suspect continued to fire shots at him.
Officers said they found 10 caliber casings at the scene and the victim’s car was hit 10 times.
Officers who were at a homicide earlier that night on Holly Street heard the gunshots.
Police said the 20-year-old has no gang ties and the motive is unknown.
