Salinas Police investigating second homicide of the year

A 43-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds while he was walking near his home on the 700 block of Holly Street in Salinas Friday night, according to Salinas Police.

It happened at about 8:24 p.m., police said three suspects dressed in black confronted Jose Delores Salazar, one of them pulled out a handgun and shot Salazar multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers said the suspects were seen running from the scene. Police believe the shooting was gang related.

A witness told News Channel 5 they heard four shots.
