Dog alerted Seaside homeowner to burglars
Three suspects entered a Seaside homeowner’s garage Tuesday morning. Seaside Police say just after 6:45amthey were notified of a burglary in progress in the 1300 block of Yosemite Street.
According to police, the homeowners’ dog alerted them to activity in their garage. When one of the homeowners opened the house’s door leading to the garage to see what was happening, the homeowner discovered three unidentified men there. The garage door was also open.
Investigators say the men ran out of the garage and the homeowner pursued them. One of the suspects turned and fired a gun towards the homeowner, but no one was hit, according to Seaside Police.
Investigators say the suspects drove off in a black 2007 Honda Ridgeline, with California license plate number 8G53663. It also had a black “Leer” brand camper shell and a USF sticker on the upper left corner of the camper shell’s window. Investigators say the lower driver’s side windshield of the truck also has a military DOD access sticker.
Seaside Police say they have two persons of interest pertaining to this case. Two surveillance photos were taken at a nearby gas station. Police believe they were taken prior to the burglary.
