Police say she was actively avoiding law enforcement and parental contact for over one week.
Arciniega’s parents told the Salinas Police Department Monday morning that she returned home to her family last night.
1/4/15: Salinas police said they believe a missing teenager they’ve been looking for is OK.
Stephanie Campos Arciniega, 14, who vanished on Christmas Eve, does not want to come home, police believe.
On Sunday, police said they have talked to people who have been in contact with Arciniega and believe she is still in the Salinas area. They also said they don’t think she is in any danger.
The teen left her home around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and was last seen wearing a pink tank top and pink sweatpants, police said.
Police added despite what they’ve learned, they are still trying to bring her home safely.
