Santa Cruz County Road Closures slowly being opened

UPDATE 12-31-2014, 7:20pm:

Pinehurst Drive is now open after a tree fell on a house.

The tree hit a house on Greenbrier Court in Aptos. According to the homeowner Bruce McNab, an 85 foot tall Monterey pine tree fell on the house at about 6:45am. Crews arrived and had to chop the tree into pieces for removal.

12-31-2014:

Larkin Valley Road in Watsonville is back open as of 3:27 p.m. Wednesday. According to CHP, there was a road closure from White Road at Larkin Valley to Mar Monte. According to CHP, atree was down and blocking the road; and wires are down. Pacific Gas & Electric was on the scene.

According to the Santa Cruz Public Works Department, the following roads are closed:

Empire Grade near Smith Grade in the Bonny Doon area was closed because a tree is down and blocking the road.

Glenwood Drive near Glenwood Cutoff in the Santa Cruz Mountains-Scotts Valley area was closed because trees are on wires.

There is a hard road closure at Soquel Drive between N. Main Street and Porter Street. PG&E are at work. Santa Cruz County Public Works Department recommends people avoid this area.

Two Bar Road approximately two miles from SR 9 in Boulder Creek is closed due to trees on wires.
