CHP motorcycle involved in accident

UPDATE 12-23-14 6:12pm : CHP says the officer hit while driving his motorcycle has serious injuries and will remain in the hospital but is expected to survive.

The driver of the SUV who hit the officer is a 79-year-old from Arroyo Grande.

UPDATE 12-23-14 2:45pm: The CHP officer who was involved in the accident was was ejected 20 -30 feet from his motorcycle after being hit by a car on the Del Monte off-ramp. The driver did not see the officer while traveling on Del Monte and turned left, hitting the officer. The officer was taken by ambulance and the Marina Police Department does not know his condition.

No alcohol or drugs were involved and the driver stayed on the scene.

The Del Monte North on and off ramp will be closed for about an hour and a half for the investigation. Officers are managing traffic at the Del Monte North on and off ramps.

Marina Police are responding to an accident involving a flatbed truck, another vehicle and a CHP motorcycle.

The accident happened at about 2:30pm at Highway 1 and the Del Monte exit in Marina.

The off-ramp at Del Monte is closed. No word on the extent of injuries of the officer or the truck driver.
