13-year-old boy in stable condition but severely injured in fatal Watsonville accident
UPDATE 12/2/14, 11:30a.m.: CHP say they believe the three people injured and killed in the fatal accident Saturday night were at the very least related. The driver, a 40-year-old woman from Moro Bay, and one of the passengers, a teen girl also from Moro Bay, were died on scene.
A 13-year-old boy who shared the same address as the two, was severely injured in the accident and was flown to a Bay Area trauma center. CHP officers say he is in stable condition Tuesday.
The investigation revealed that the woman was driving too fast for the wet conditions, lost control of vehicle, crossed over the double yellow line on Highway 129 and was broadsided by another car.
The driver of that car had moderate injuries and was driven to a hospital by ambulance.
11/29/14: Two people are dead after a two-vehicle crash near Watsonville Saturday afternoon. It happened just before 3 p.m. on Hwy 129 at Old Chittenden Road.
Accordingtothe California Highway Patrol, a black Volvo was traveling in the westbound lane when the driver lost control and crossed into the eastbound lane and broadsided a black Saturn sedan. The CHP is still investigating the crash but said the weather could have been a factor.
Twopeople were killed and a young boy was flown out of the area with major injuries.
