Salinas library director resigns; city to pay her $400k settlement

The city of Salinas has reached a settlement of $400,000 with the city library director, who is resigning from her position.

Salinas city officials said Elizabeth Martinez, director of the library and community services department, has resigned as of Tuesday. Her resignation is accompanied by a separation payment of $400,000.

In a press release sent out Tuesday night, city officials said the details of the settlement and release agreement are confidential.

Martinez had held the position since 2007.
