Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca voted #1 best track
A website that tracks trendy cars and expensive gadgets named Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca as the best “must-drive” destination.
The online site Supercompressor rated America’s 17 best race tracks, giving Monterey’s hidden jewel the top spot.
The website, which launched in 2013, said there aren’t many tracks in the world with a turn as iconic as The Corkscrew.
“Flat out up a hill over a long straight, followed by braking hard for a slow left hander as you’re basically falling off a cliff? Yeah, it’s been the scene of some great racing over the years,” online writer Aaron Miller described it.
Supercompressor said America is fortunate to have dozens of beautiful road courses, but some tower above others as “must-drive” destinations.
It tells people to take a day and go drive one if possible.
Supercompressor describes its content as people’s daily source for the groundbreaking and good-looking, the luxurious, ludicrous, and downright awesome.
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca even beat out the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indiana, which placed sixth on the list. A track that many argue has more history than any other track on Earth.
