Seaside boy, 3, gets to be construction foreman for a day
A 3-year-old Seaside boy suffering from kidney cancer got to be a construction foreman for the day at a site in San Francisco Tuesday.
Renzo Lombardi got to work on real machinery at a building site on 8th Street, just south of Market, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Greater Bay Area.
It was the second part of his wish; in July, Renzo got to visit the Graniterock site in Aromas, where he got to ride a truck and see other big machinery.
Renzo’s parents say their son is very into toy trucks, construction vehicles and similar equipment. They say that fascination has been a sort of therapy to help him along as he’s gone through cancer treatments.
Renzo has a type of cancer called Wilm’s tumor.
