Marina man admits failing to register as sex offender
Troy Caldwell, a Marina resident, has pleaded no contest to failing to register as a sex offender.
Caldwell, also known as Troy Lewis, was set for jury trial Monday but pleaded out. Caldwell, 30, is a registered sex offender who failed to notify the Marina Police Department that he had moved from one residence within the city to another. Caldwell moved to a new address within Marina and failed to register that move.
Caldwell has prior convictions for felony sexual battery and robbery. Caldwell will be sentenced to 32 months in state prison when he is sentenced on Aug 15, according to Monterey County prosecutors.
