State officials release plan for safeguarding California against climate change risk
California state officials have released the final version of a plan aimed at reducing climate change risk.
According to Gov. Jerry Brown, California is a leader in the global effort to fight climate change. The efforts outlined in the report will reduce the magnitude of climate change, but they are not preventative measures, state officials say.
The Safeguarding California Plan provides policy guidance for state decision makers. It’s part of continuing efforts to reduce climate impacts and prepare for climate risks.
