Pacific Grove Police: Woman forced by threat to drive to Salinas

Pacific Grove police are investigating a kidnapping incident that occurred Wednesday morning.

Police say the victim was in the Safeway parking lot when she was approached by another woman, who asked about a job. The victim offered to give the other woman a ride.

Once inside the car, the suspect took out a handgun and threatened the victim and the victim’s children if she didn’t drive her to a specified location in Salinas.

The victim drove the woman to the address and the suspect got out of the car, leaving the victim and her children unharmed. After driving back to Pacific Grove, the victim called police.

The suspect is described as a middle-aged Hispanic woman with a medium build and dark hair pulled back into a ponytail. She was wearing a black sweatshirt and blue jeans and had a black purse.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Pacific Grove Police Department at 648-3143.
