Suspect not found after domestic violence incident incident in Prunedale
Monterey County Sheriff’s deputies have reopened the area of a Corey Road home where they were searching for a suspect Wednesday morning.
A second scene at Crazy Horse Canyon Road was still being processed for evidence as of early Wednesday afternoon.
Officers from the Sheriff’s Office, SWAT members and hostage negotiators responded to an address on Crazy Horse Canyon Road after a domestic violence call came in around 5 a.m.
An ex-parolee, identified as 51-year-old Jeffrey Howard, was apparently fighting with his wife and at one point, a shotgun was fired.
Crazy Horse Canyon Road was closed for several hours while deputies responded. The woman made it out of the residence unharmed, but officers were still seeking Howard.
Deputies later went to a home on Corey Road believed to be that of one of Howard’s relatives but he was not found there. That scene has been cleared.
Howard remains at large.
