Two stabbed in Capitola Saturday; police arrest victims’ neighbor

Capitola police arrested a 33-year-old woman on suspicion of stabbing her neighbors Saturday night.

Police were called to the 1700 block of 46th Avenue for a reported stabbing and found two victims. A 39-year-old woman had been stabbed in her upper left shoulder and torso area, and was airlifted to a Bay Area trauma center for treatment. A 48-year-old man was treated at a local hospital for a stab wound to his shoulder.

Both people are in stable condition and told police it was there neighbor, Katy Skinner, who’d attacked them.

Skinner was arrested on scene on suspicion of attempted murder and was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail. Police also recovered the knife they believe was used in the attack.
