Watsonville police investigate Sunday night fatal shooting

Watsonville police are investigating a shooting that killed a 44-year-old man Sunday night.

Police officers were dispatched to the Wall Street Inn on West Beach Street around 9:30 p.m. for reports of a shooting victim found at the building’s front entrance. When they arrived, they found a man unconscious, having been shot once in the neck.

Officers and paramedics attempted life-saving efforts but the man died on scene.

Police spoke to witnesses at the scene, and are still investigation.

No further information had been released as of early Monday morning.
