Agencies team to improve healthcare enrollment on Central Coast

Local agencies are teaming with Get Covered America in an effort to improve enrollment in health insurance programs available today on the Central Coast. With the Affordable Care Act health insurance is available, but improving enrollments is an ongoing effort.

The California Endowment and the Monterey Bay Central Labor Council will host a three-day “Get Covered Health Care Training Summit” in Salinas, which gathers leading health care organizations from across the state to share best practices and learn new tactics for health care enrollment.

The first training session on Thursday, July 10, which focuses on using grassroots canvassing as an outreach tactic, begins at 11:45 a.m. at the Monterey Bay Central Labor Council, 931 East Market Street, Salinas.

The training will kick off with a welcome from Get Covered America and Labor Council staff and will be followed by an interactive presentation on new field strategies, targeting, and messaging.
