King City shooting victim released from hospital
A King City man shot in the head while driving Saturday night before crashing into a home was released from the hospital.
The victim is cooperating with police, but has left the area for fear of retaliation.
The shooting caused him to lose control of his car and crash into an Oxford Avenue home, police said.
Officers heard gunshots around 10 p.m. near the area of the 200 block of Oxford Avenue. There they were flagged down a man who was bleeding profusely. As officers rendered first-aid, they realized he’d been shot in the head. He was taken to a trauma center for treatment.
The victim apparently was driving when someone shot at him, and as he tried to flee from the suspect, he lost control of the truck, struck a parked car and crashed into a residence. No one was in the home at the time.
Police said other vehicles were found to have been damaged by the shooting. No motive has been determined at this time.
