Hollister Police: Drunken driver crashes into home
An 18-year-old man is believed to have been drunk when he drove his car into a home on the corner of Prune Street and Eastview Drive.
Hollister police responded to the home on June 27 around 10 p.m. after Trenton Bovee crashed his car into it.
Witnesses told police they saw Bovee speed down Prune Street, fail to stop at a stop sign, hit a curb, hit a parked car in a driveway and then crash into the outer wall of a house.
Bovee’s car crashed into the living room, and caused a natural gas break.
No one, included Bovee, was injured in the crash. Residents were home at the time.
Bovee was arrested on suspicion of DUI and was booked into San Benito County Jail.
Bovee’s car was still in the home as of Wednesday, police reported, because of major structural damage to the home. Removing the vehicle could cause part of the house to collapse, police said.
