Motorcycle accident snarls traffic near San Juan Bautista

There were major traffic delays on Highway 101 near Betabel Road in San Juan Bautista following a motorcycle crash Sunday.

California Highway Patrol say one person had to be transferred to a Bay Area trauma center with major injuries following the crash.

Officers were forced to shut down one lane of traffic while a helicopter landed to retrieve the patient, causing some major traffic delays.

According to the CHP incident report website, many cars were turning around on the highway to avoid the traffic delay.
