Crews working to clean up diesel spill on River Road

Crews were continuing Tuesday morning to work on cleaning up a diesel spill on River Road in Monterey County.

The spill was reported Monday morning and forced the closure of River Road between Laguna and Corey Roads.

County officials say the area will remain closed until Sunday, May 11 to allow completion of clean up and road repair work.

Traffic is being diverted around the closed area. Drivers should watch for signs at Highway 68 at River Road and on Chualar River Road.
