California farmers getting extra water

3 state and federal *water leaders* have announced— california farmers will get a little more water than expected! it’s to help with the state’s historic drought. 3 the department of water resources is increasing water allotments from zero to 5 percent of what water districts requested… the state water project supplies water to 29 public agencies. that water irrigates nearly a million acres of farm land. ### the decision for the water increase is due recent rain and snow storms in february and march.
