Monterey County Sheriff’s Office arrest duo on child molestation charges

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the alleged sexual molestation of a child, following a weekend arrest.

41-year-old Ruben Ruiz Maciel, and 31-year-old Claudia Ochoa were arrested shortly before 7:30 Saturday evening. Investigators are releasing few details surrounding the alleged abuse, including when the alleged abuse began involving the reported victim. That victim is only identified as a minor child, per deputies.

According to deputies, the male suspect is employed by Ruiz Trucking, but did not provide an address for that business.

Both suspects are faces charges of sexual molestation of a minor child and possession of narcotics. Both Maciel and Ochoa were booked into the Monterey County Jail.

Maciel has a bail of $5 million while Ochoa has a bail of $2 million.
