Hollister police arrest two in Quick Stop Market assault
Hollister police officers have arrested two people in connection with what they say was a gang-related attack at the Quick Stop Market on April 17. A third suspect is still at-large.
Around 1 a.m., a Hollister resident was attacked by a group of men and at least one woman, using what appeared to be knives. The victim wasn’t seriously injured.
Monday, Officer Matt Weiss was investigating a recent shooting when he spotted one of the suspects from the Quick Stop attack walking on San Benito Street carrying a pizza.
Weiss arrested Eddie Degracia, 20, without incident and had the pizza delivered to Degracia’s home. At Degracia’s home, an officer recognized Desiree Rojas, 23, when she stepped outside to get the pizza. She also was wanted in connection with the attack and was arrested.
Degracia was booked in the San Benito County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and violating probation. Rojas was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
Hollister police are still seeking 20-year-old Anthony Samuel Villareal. He’s described as 5′ tall, 110 lbs with black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Officer Weiss at 636-4330 ext. 132 or call the anonymous tipline at 800-78-CRIME.
