Four arrested in burglary at Santa Cruz florist
Santa Cruz police arrested four people after a break-in at an Ocean Street florist.
Deputy Chief Steve Clark says officers responded to an alarm at the shop around 3 a.m. Saturday and found the glass front door smashed, as well as the glass door of a cooler inside.
Residents called in a description of a gray 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer spotted leaving the area, and officers found the car at a nearby gas station, where the driver was filling up.
Matthew Timmeny, 20; Rebecka Quezada, 18, and Landon Spearman III, 18, all of Castro Valley were arrested on suspicion of burglary along with 19-year-old Diego Delgado of San Leandro.
Clark said the suspects had apparently traveled to Santa Cruz for a party. All four had glass shards in their shoes when officers contacted them and stolen property from the florist was in the car. Quezada also had prescription painkillers she didn’t have a prescription for.
