Marina man accused of attempted murder, violence on officers

Marina Police said a fight broke out between two neighbors around 5:00 p.m. on Saturday,and a weapon was involved.

Police said 63-year-old Jeffrey Adkins confronted his neighbor with a shotgun in the 3100 Block of Seacrest Avenue. Adkins allegedly threatened to kill the victim and his entire family.

Police said the victim tried to take the shotgun away from Adkins and in the process one shot was fired.

Adkins also allegedly assaulted an officer and threatened to kill an officer.

Adkins has been booked into the Monterey County Jail on suspicion of attempted homicide and assault on a peace officer.
