Lady Gaga under fire for filling Hearst Castle pool during drought

Pop star Lady Gaga has come under fire for reportedly wasting gallons of water during a video shoot at Hearst Castle in San Simeon.

Radar Online has reported that the Neptune Pool at the national and state historical landmark was filled with water from an on-site irrigation system for the music video for her song “G.U.Y.” The video was filmed in February at the spot, with the pool occupied by synchronized swimmers.

The online magazine says the water was chlorinated, meaning it couldn’t be reused to irrigate the state parks’ land. California is in the middle of what’s being called one of the worst droughts in years and water shortages are a major issue throughout the state.

State officials, however, have denied those claims.
