Salinas woman pleads no contest to molestation charges for sex with teen boy

A Salinas woman accused of sexually abusing a teenage boy pleaded no contest Wednesday to four counts of committing lewd acts and one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.

Annette Banda, also known as Annette Vink, was arrested in January on more than three dozen charges stemming from her sexual involvement with the teen.

Prosecutors said that starting in 2010, Banda initiated and continued a sexual relationship with a then-14-year-old boy for three years.

The boy was a student at Palma High School, whom Banda met through her daughter.

Banda, 50, faces up to five years and eight months in state prison when she is sentenced in Monterey County Court on July 14.
