Work on Reservation Road starts Thursday
Planned repairs on Reservation Road are getting underway Thursday, a few days ahead of schedule, according to the Monterey County public works department.
Construction work is being done on the road between Panziera Road and East Garrison Drive.
Due to recent rains, the embankment of the road began to erode and undermine the roadway. This project will stabilize the slope and prevent further erosion..
The project is expected to take four weeks to complete, and work will occur weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Construction originally wasn’t set to begin until Monday but good weather prompted officials to move up the start date.
Motorists should expect lane closures throughout the duration of the project, resulting in delays of about 20 minutes. It’s advised that drivers seek alternate routes.
The $455,220 project is funded by local emergency funds.
