Meeting of the minds over water conservation

Senator Anthony Cannella and other leaders with interest in water conservation are meeting this week to discuss the drought situation.

Cannella, Janelle Beland with California Natural Resources Agency, Norm Groot, the executive director of the Monterey County Farm Bureau, Janine Chicourrat with the Monterey County Hospitality Association, and David Chardavoyne, general manager of the Monterey County Water Resources, will be at Salinas City Hall on Thursday.

They’re coming to talk about strategies for conserving water and some of the issues facing the biggest industries on the central coast. The meeting will be held in the rotunda from 5-6:30 p.m.
