Police: Man arrested for burglarizing storage facility in Watsonville
A man is behind bars after police say he burglarized a storage facility Monday in Watsonville.
Watsonville police and Santa Cruz County sheriff’s deputies responded to the Extra Space Storage Co. on Freedom Boulevard. As they were searching a nearby cemetery, officers say they located a man who matched the description of the person responsible for breaking into several storage lockers. Police say the man was in possession of several duffel bags which were later determined to have been taken from the storage lockers. When deputies tried to make contact with the suspect, they say he fled on foot toward Freedom Boulevard. After a short pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody.
