CHP: Partial closure still in place at Hwy 101 and 25
GILROY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- UPDATE: Work on Highway 101 near Highway 25 continues Monday afternoon after a solo vehicle crash left a power pole destroyed and left power lines across the freeway.
CHP Hollister-Gilroy says the highway was expected to open at noon but was pushed back as PG&E crews continued to work through the morning.
It was around that time crews still had north and southbound Highway 101 reduced to one-lane of traffic flow.
This was a result of a crash that happened around 5:41 Sunday night when a white pick up truck crashed into a power pole resulting in minor injuries.
CHP says no one was transported to a local hospital for their injuries and did not specify the type of injuries suffered in the crash.
PG&E has, meanwhile, worked on keeping powerlines from obstructing big rigs commuting along the highway.
UPDATE: Highway 101 northbound near Highway 25 remains closed due to a solo vehicle minor injury collision in one lane. The collision caused live power lines to block the roadway. The roadway is expected to be open around 8:00 a.m. Traffic is heavy in the area as of 7:15 a.m.
