#PositiveLocalNews: Aptos Family Decorates 146 Christmas Trees

Most families only put up one Christmas tree, but for a family in Aptos, that’ just not enough. It is standing room only at the home of Ben and Radeene Anguiano because the couple has 146 Christmas trees.

“I’m just a regular guy that likes to put up Christmas trees,” explained Ben.

Putting up and decorating 146 Christmas trees is as complicated as it sounds. The Anguianos have trees in their living room, their dining room and even their bathroom.

For the past seven years, Ben has decorated each of the trees himself. He said it takes about two weeks to create the winter wonderland.

Ben and his wife of 41-years, Radeene, have become a main attraction in the small Aptos senior community where they live. According to the family, each year waves of people come by to see all the decorations. This year , Ben said they hosted as many as 80 people at any given time.

Ben said that everyone loved his trees so much that he began to expand. Their children and grandchildren now contribute to the growing Christmas decoration collection.
