Suspect confesses to Seaside fatal stabbing, police say

A 28-year-old man was stabbed to death Sunday afternoon in Seaside and police said his killer confessed to it.

The stabbing occurred at an apartment complex in the 900 block of Hilby Avenue around 4:40 p.m.

Police found the suspect, Etelberto Vasquez-Zapata, at the scene. They said he ultimately confessed to the stabbing after several witnesses identified him.

He was booked into Monterey County Jail.
