Free Christmas Dinner Still Needs Food Donations
The 28th annual Free Christmas Dinner will be held at the Monterey County Fairgrounds this Christmas Day, but they still need donations of turkeys and hams!
A complete dinner will be served in the Monterey Room at the fairgrounds Wednesday, Dec. 25, from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m.
There will be musical entertainment, toys for the children, and Santa Claus will make a guest appearance with lots of holiday cheer.
Volunteers are also needed to help serve the dinner. Anyone who would like to volunteer should call Linda or Joe at 831-324-0715, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
If you would like to donate a turkey or ham, you may do so at the fairgrounds’ kitchen on Monday or Tuesday.
The Marina Police Department is coordinating the delivery of meals for those who can’t get to the fairgrounds. To have a meal delivered to you, please contact the department at 831-884-1200.
If you have any questions, please call Rich at 831-757-5709.
This special annual dinner is hosted by the Community Holiday Dinner Committee and Shelter Outreach Plus, and The Food Bank for Monterey County.
The dinner is free and all are invited to attend.
