Crews Reach Full Containment on Pfeiffer Fire

After nearly 1,000 people fought for more than five days to contain the Pfeiffer Fire, crews reached full containment Friday afternoon.

In the end, 917 acres burned in the iconic coastal community and after a more through inspection, there was a total of 34 homes and 4 outbuildings lost in the fire.

Crews were able to save 24 other buildings.

PG&E crews were working Friday night to string new power lines. Representatives told Central Coast News they hope to be finished by Christmas Eve so people can be back in their homes by Christmas Day.

Monterey County created an online resource page to help victims with recovery, rebuilding and other services. You can find that here: www.co.monterey.ca.us/Pfeiffer-Fire
