One dead in Las Lomas shooting
The Monterey County Sheriff’s Department said one person was shot and killed in Las Lomas near Watsonville on Las Lomas Drive and Overpass Road.
Deputies said the shooting happened just before 7 p.m. Sunday and at least one person is being sought.
Monterey County deputies said they got several calls from neighbors who heard multiple gunshots.
Deputies said once they arrived at the scene, one man was found lying in the street on Las Lomas Drive near Overpass Road. Paramedics began CPR once they arrived, however the victim died at the scene.
Sheriff detectives are now investigating the case as a homicide.
The victim is a young Hispanic man. There is no description of the shooter at this time. Right now it is unknown if it is gang-related.
