Santa Cruz Police: Four juveniles arrested in connection to a shooting on Hagemann and Soquel Avenue
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION)
UPDATE 1/22/2021 9:39 p.m. Four juveniles have been booked into Juvenile Hall on charges of attempted murder with a gang enhancement.
Santa Cruz Police say officers arrived at the intersection of Hagemann and Soquel Avenue after reports of shots fired at approximately 3:15 p.m. Police on the scene later found the shooting victim and immediately began lifesaving efforts.
Officers identify the male victim as a 34-year-old Santa Cruz resident. He was transported to a Bay Area trauma center and has been released in stable condition.
Detectives revealed that a black four-door sedan was seen speeding away from the scene. After a short amount of time, the vehicle was located in Santa Cruz County by a California State Parks Ranger.
Members of the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team stopped the vehicle and safely detained the four juvenile suspects.
Santa Cruz Police say a firearm was recovered from the vehicle, linking the four occupants to the shooting.

Police at the scene tell KION that a man was approached by men in a black sedan at around 3:30 p.m. in the 100 block, and they fired multiple shots. The victim was shot once in the chest.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and right now, his injuries appear to be non-life-threatening.
Four people who police believe may be involved were detained in Watsonville. They were in a black sedan.
