Harley riders donate over 100 turkeys ahead of holiday season

The season for giving is upon us, and some have already gotten a head start.

Over 100 turkeys were donated to the Monterey County Food Bank, Saturday. Harley Davidson riders from across Monterey County delivered them to the Salinas warehouse.

The tradition has taken place for 13 years. In that time, riders have donated over 3,500 turkeys and over $15,000 to the food bank.

“I wish we could do more. I’d like to invite more people to come. The food bank always needs help. Although this happens once a year, it should happen all year,” said rider and donor, Tonya Grier.

The food bank currently serves one in five Monterey County residents.
